Becoming a Friend

As a friend, giving a regular amount, you’ll benefit from the knowledge that you are helping us to help those that really need it. You can keep in touch by joining our Facebook group and see details of forthcoming events and updates on our Fundraising activities.

Group’s of friends

Normally “Friends” of Wobbles are individuals who give financially on a regular basis. However if you want to be different why not join as a group there are no limits as to how many people can be included under one Friends contribution or indeed, what can be donated: be it money, time skills or products.

PRESS RELEASE

Wobbles is delighted to announce that Mrs Justine Picardo has become our new Patron.

Mrs Picardo has been working behind the scenes over the past 6 months and has brought some new ideas and suggestions to drive Wobbles forward. We are already planning one of our biggest events of 2014 to be announced at a future date.

Justine is looking forward to representing Wobbles as our Patron as she has great belief in the work of the charity, particularly as a mother herself. She is excited about joining the Wobbles family and representing an organisation she believes in so strongly, "Not only am I extremely honoured to accept the role as Patron of Wobbles Children's Charity, I am also very proud to be part of such a beautiful organisation. I greatly sympathise with the turmoil and stress experienced in a family with a child suffering from any kind of disease or life-threatening illness and anything I can do to help make their lives a little better or easier or happier, even if its for just one day, is worthwhile . I also hope to increase awareness in our Community of how Wobbles can make a positive difference to the emotional and physical health of children with life-threatening conditions."

Debbie Garcia, Chair and Founding Trustee of Wobbles, said: "We are extremely grateful to Justine for supporting Wobbles and we are delighted about the commitment and dedication she has shown to our worthwhile charity. We are excited for what 2014 has in store for us and have no doubt that her involvement will raise the profile of our Charity, as well as helping us to deliver on our mission to grant wishes to children with life-threatening and medical conditions, restoring hope and joy to their lives. We very much look forward to working with her."

Wobbles are also pleased to announce the release of our updated website, designed with a fresh new look and user-friendly navigation, updated with the latest information about our events and other activities such as granting children's wishes, www.wobbles-gib.com.

Members of Gibraltar’s Essential Services and other local companies have held an annual walk since 1996. Each year they raise money and distribute it to various local charities and this year following their mammoth amble from Gibraltar to Castellar and back  they decided to include Wobbles as one of their charities.

Debbie Garcia, Michelle Rougeroni and Frankie Hatton all went along to the Police Club on HMS Rooke for a formal thank you and collection of the cheque.

In total they raised more than £4000 an incredible amount and testament to their efforts in fundraising. Debbie was presented with a cheque for £717.00 which is fantastic news for Wobbles and its beneficiaries. A massive thank you to everyone from the Essential Services particularly organisers Romany Pecino, Michael Garcia, Gareth Gonzalez and George Field.

The pictures include Debbie receiving the cheque from Mrs Banda and Debbie, Frankie & Michelle posing outside the club with the cheque.
